TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES
SAVAGE ST & HIGH ST
In accordance with section 3.50 of the Local Government Act 1995 notice is hereby given for the temporary closure of the following sections of road:

- Savage St between the laneway behind Meekatharra IGA and Oliver St
- High St between the laneway behind the Meeka Corner Store and Oliver St
These sections of road will be subject to closures to traffic during the period from Monday 24th of July 2023 until Friday 18th of August 2023. The Shire will attempt to keep closures of the full works zone on each road to a minimum.
Refer to the attached map to view the affected areas.
Access for local residents in the works area will be maintained, although there may be times where individual properties will be inaccessible. These disruptions will be kept to an absolute minimum duration and the Shire will communicate with affected residents prior to any events where this may occur.
The Shire of Meekatharra is undertaking these works to improve safety and accessibility for all road users. Works will involve widening of the existing roadway. Traffic management and temporary detour signage will be in place to direct and assist the community. Please slow down when passing around the works and talk to one of the Shire Road Construction Team on site if unsure how to navigate the detour.
There may be some impacts on the use of the Lion’s Park Skatepark adjacent to the Savage St during the works for the safety of the public. Please check with one of the Shire crew on site if unsure.
